Adventures in Portugal: Hospitality Students Loving Lisbon

Editor's Note: Liz Cunningham, a student majoring in Hotel & Lodging Management, shares her experience, in her own words, about a class trip to Lisbon, Portugal. Liz and several other students from JWU’s Providence, Denver and Charlotte campuses spent 5 days in Lisbon as part of their International Hotel Operations course. Associate Professors Jane Boyland, International Hotel School, Providence Campus, and Sharene Reed, College of Hospitality Management, Denver Campus, led the trip.

JWU Denver Student Named Traffic Safety Scholar

JWU Denver student Jacob Smith was recently named a 2017 Traffic Safety Scholar for his dedication to road safety as a speaker, consultant and activist. In March, he traveled to North Carolina to attend the National Lifesavers Conference and receive his well-earned award.

From Cold to (Surprisingly) Warm: My travel to JWU Denver

Now I’ll be the first to admit, I have hated cold weather my entire life. Sledding, skiing, snowboarding, shoveling – all activities I have never enjoyed. So needless to say a few eyebrows were raised at my expense when I told my friends and family I was transferring to JWU in Denver, Colorado for spring term.
