So over this part week we have decided to become adventurers! The weather finally became nice (and by nice I mean over 40 degrees! Woo!) so it was time to explore the land! We set off to find the lookout point that had a 360 view of Gothenburg.
Of course the view was amazing. Unfortunately for us, we didn’t realize there was an actual path up the mountain so we ended up full out climbing. Like,I’ve never felt more like a survivalist. We had to climb rocks, trees, and perform some seriously ninja like maneuvers to get to the top. After about 20 minutes of trying not to die from extreme exhaustion we were finally able to sit up and enjoy the view and the setting sun.
Our hiking adventures didn’t end there, however. The next day classes were cancelled and the weather was just right so we all laced up our sneakers and set out to hiking trails along a lake!
Naturally, we had no idea where we were going, so after asking a few nice people we made it to the trails! After about 20 minutes of hiking we reached the lake which, much to our surprise, was completely frozen!
The lake was frozen mid-wave, which was pretty spectacular. And even though we were super hesitant at first, we realized that it was strong enough to hold us up so we had to walk around on it a bit.
There was snow EVERYWHERE around the lake even though there was no snow anywhere else in Gothenburg. This lake was only 15 minutes away from our apartment yet it had a completely different climate. We performed some more crazy ninja moves to climb up around the lake and into the forest only to realize, once again, that there was a perfectly convenient path.
The view was breathtaking and the memories great! I can’t wait to explore more of our temporary home!
