Blackoutday

JWU if you didn’t know March 6, 2015 was Blackout day and I just wanted to share my experience with it.

For the first time in a long time I have seen positive african american and mixed women and men uplift one another every second of every minute. I posted a lot of pictures and sent messages to those that were battling things everyday to make them feel better. I connected with a lot of people that I had things in common with. My last post for Blackout Day was me opening up about things I’ve gone through and currently going through…things I don’t normally express to others. I hope that this is an on going event because the love people received really put smiles on their faces and made them feel better about who they are. This was an event that I believe EVERYONE should experience and participate in. It doesn’t have to be blackout but I believe that EVERYONE should UPLIFT one another because you never know how your positive words could help someone’s day.
