TODAY I GRADUATE FROM JWU!!!
Ever white water rafted? What an experience! Choosing the Eco-tourism and adventure tourism concentration was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Miami campus is packed with Wildcat spirit! This is me and my roommate before the final home basketball game! Great season!
Winter trimester has been amazing and I am happy to be finished and ready for spring break - I am going to miss my extraordinary classes and how much fun I had in school this trimester (although I’m sure classes are not going to stop being amazing!)
ONE WEEK MORE!!! (I don’t know if there are any Les Miserables fans out there, but if you love Les Mis, you read that to a specific tune in your head.)
I cannot believe this trimester is really coming to a close. I am so happy to say that it has been one of my most rewarding trimesters so far at JWU and could not have asked for better experiences in my education, as well as everything else that has been going on in my life!
Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t been around lately but my life has been crazy winding down my last winter trimester ever! There’s nothing better though than feeling confident with where you’re at when it comes down to the end of the tri. Although I’ve been guilty of procrastination, I feel like I work better during crunch time. I highly recommend to all of you not to procrastinate though!!
I am so close to being done with my trimester of Retail Lab and Seminar, as well as the amazing field trips that have been planned this trimester. I have had such great takeaways from all of the field trips we have been on and beside the awesome places we visited in New York, our last field trip, Nordstrom, was the perfect way to end our field trips in my opinion.
I had such a fabulous weekend and end to my first month of 2014 and it all started on Friday at our Kohl’s field trip in Walpole, MA with my Fashion Seminar class. The Kohl’s employees did an excellent job giving us amazing and large quantities of information all about their company and the retail industry. The manager of the Walpole store not only brought in the New England district manager, but hand-picked Kohl’s employees from other stores in the area who were Johnson & Wales Alumni, which was awesome seeing previous students with the degree I am working for, doing something they love. After meeting with each employee of the tour and having information sessions in smaller groups, they provided a “quiz-like” game to compete to win $50 Kohl’s gift cards which was so exciting to all of my class.
This past Friday my class and I had the wonderful opportunity of visiting Kohl’s in Walpole, MA. When we first arrived, we were greeted by the district manager of the area and several store managers from the various cities in Massachusetts. They were all there to make sure we had a great experience. Many of the managers that were there to speak with us were once in our same positions as students. That fact alone made this trip even that much more special. Just think, the same students that graduated from the same JWU academic program as us, went through the Kohl’s internships programs and are know letting us know that hard work really does pay off.
Hey guys! Last week I accidentally posted this on my personal blog rather than The JWU blog. Very sorry, still getting the hang of this! But here is our NYC adventure. Click the “NY, NY ! Field Trip 4” Title Link above to get the full post!
