A Warm Welcome for New + Returning Wildcats

9/3/18 | New and returning Wildcats alike were welcomed back to JWU’s Providence Campus this past weekend. Although Wildcat Welcome officially lasts the entire first week of the academic year, Labor Day weekend is especially jam-packed — from the hustle and bustle of move-in to all kinds of athletics (men’s and women’s soccer and field hockey teams play their season openers), food, karaoke and a Saturday night appearance by comedian Matt Bellassai.

JWU Denver Joins NCAA Division III

2/22/17 |The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Membership Committee announced that Johnson & Wales University’s Denver Campus has been accepted as an Exploratory Member, effective September 1, 2017.

JWU Wrestling Retains Providence Rivalry Cup

1/19/17 | Only 8 miles separate Johnson & Wales University from Rhode Island College, but the Wildcat wrestling team showed the divide is bigger than that on the mat, dominating the Anchormen 45-3 during the team’s annual Friday Night Fights.

Women's Volleyball Caps Undefeated Season with GNAC Championship Win

11/7/2016 | Fans packed the Wildcat Center Saturday afternoon to watch the Providence women's volleyball team extend their winning streak to 33 matches as they defeated Rivier, 3-1 (27-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-19), to claim their second straight GNAC Championship. This win secured the team an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament. This is the Wildcats' seventh conference championship, the most of any volleyball program in the GNAC.

Providence Women's Volleyball off to a Record Start

10/11/2016 | The Johnson & Wales University Providence women's volleyball team has extended their winning streak to 20 after a pair of non-conference victories over Columbus Day weekend. This is the best season start in program history, head coach Nancy Somera said.

No Butts About It: All 4 JWU Campuses Now Tobacco Free

7/5/2016 | As of Friday, July 1, 2016, all 4 of Johnson & Wales University’s campuses are officially tobacco free. Faculty, staff and students assembled on the lawn in front of the Yena Center on JWU’s Providence campus to celebrate becoming the first university in Rhode Island to become tobacco free. JWU joins approximately 1,100 other colleges and universities across the country.

Two Wildcat Teams are NCAA Tournament Bound

3/1/16 | Both JWU Providence men’s and women's basketball teams have officially advanced to the NCAA tournament.
