JWU Wrestling Takes Center Stage at Inaugural Downtown Showdown

2/9/18 | For the first time ever, collegiate wrestling took the stage at the Providence Performing Arts Center for the Downtown Showdown. The fourth-ranked Johnson & Wales University wrestling team toppled local rival No. 20 ranked Roger Williams University, 28-12, on Thursday, February 8.

Brown University and Harvard University also faced off in alternating matches, with Brown falling to Harvard 21-12.

Most of the Wildcats are off until the NCAA Northeast Region Championships, hosted by WPI on February 24-25. JWU will send a contingency to the Futures Tournament, hosted by Roger Williams on February 18.
