4/25/17 | This May, Johnson & Wales University will award 8 honorary doctorate degrees and a total of 3,279 undergraduate and graduate degrees at its 2017 commencement ceremonies, to be held at the university’s 4 campuses.

  • Recipient and Keynote Speaker: Neil D. Steinberg, president and CEO, Rhode Island Foundation, will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).

  • Recipient and Keynote Speaker: David L. Warren, PhD, president, National Association of Independent Colleges and University (NAICU), will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.

Afternoon Ceremony, 1:45pm: College of Culinary Arts and School of Hospitality (Food Service Management)

  • Recipient and Keynote Speaker: Charles M. Royce, chairman and portfolio manager, Royce & Associates, LP will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).
  • Recipient: Gary R. Comella '76, executive chef, University Club, Providence, RI, will receive a Doctor of Culinary Arts.
