‘Reclaiming Conversation’ with Author Sherry Turkle

“I think it's particularly important to write a love letter to conversation at this point in time,” founder and director of MIT's Initiative of Technology and Self, Sherry Turkle told the students assembled in Schneider Auditorium earlier this month. In addition to being the author of this year's freshman summer reads book, “Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in the Digital Age”, Turkle was the second Cultural Life Series speaker to visit JWU's Providence Campus.

The State of RI Media & Politics: Fung, Diossa & McGowan at JWU

This is an academic year of firsts for the College of Arts & Sciences on Johnson & Wales University's Providence Campus: September marked the launch of JWU's Political Science program, this coming May, the first class of Media & Communications Studies students will graduate, and on October 27 JWU hosted its first Media & Politics Café, featuring Cranston Mayor Allan Fung, Central Falls Mayor James Diossa, and WPRI reporter Dan McGowan.
